What Are We Thinking
The idea of taking our family on this adventure started with a desire almost 3 years ago to see, and to some degree feel, how other people go about their lives around the world. We have the hope of gaining a greater understanding of the world; the people in it and our place and responsibility to it. This idea has had its share of road blocks. After some initial problems to overcome, mostly concerning work and school the doors to what looks like an amazing adventure have been opened. In the past our family has been fortunate to participate in short term mission trips to various countries, but always felt we were only dipping our toes in the water. Our hope during the next 4 months is to dive in deeper and to come back with perspective greater than the one we left with.So.....we are diving in, the backpacks are bought and almost stuffed, countless hours have been spent on the internet, a small fortune has been spent in immunizations and medicines and off we go........26 days and counting....

Hey you guys!!! Good luck on your trip, what a great gift for all of you. This is something you'll never forget. I am jealous!!! My gift to you is a daily prayer...or at least whenever I think of it, which for me, as you know, isn't a daily routine to date! I think I'll post myself a note in the bathroom or on my espresso machine where I'll see it :-)
I love you & your family and wish you the best!!! Can't wait for updates on your ventures!
XOXOXOXO, Oona
Blesings from the Riley's.Lord fill them with your Miracles.
Well, the world will be a different place, especially in those places where you travel to. Your feet will touch God's special places; your hands will join with God's special people; your hearts will be shaped by the hearts of others; your eyes will behold the leading and blessing of the Lord; and, your minds will be impressed by the both the needs of people and the power of God. We will certainly hold you in prayer often and will look forward to stories and experiences that you will be able to share. Blessings and prayers for safe travel in all ways. Ed Smyth
Kurt and Cari,
WOW! I am once again am amazed by you and your commitment to Christ and your family!
I will pray and i will await your families experiences via this blog. Will you be sharing your itinerary or must we wait for each place to be visited?
Wow!
My daughter read out of Jeremiah 31 this morning of signposts that will remind each of us as individuals of His existence in our lives. Your family will have actual roadsde signposts!
Can I say that I am jealous? whoops just did, lol. I will pray and if you so hear, I will fast with you as you take each other into that next level with their redeemer.
Please keep us posted as often as possible, so that we know how to pray!
